NEUER NOT GOING TO MANCHESTER CITY WITH ME SAYS GUARDIOLA
Outgoing Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that he does not see his sweeper goalkeeper Manuel Neuer leave the Bavarian with him.
But the German international has three years remaining on his contract, and Guardiola said that City buying Neuer from Bayern was unlikely.
"Manuel Neuer will be the goalkeeper at Bayern Munich for the next five, six, seven, eight or nine years," Guardiola said.
"That's my hunch. I haven't asked him about this, I don't know what he thinks. But I think he could stay at Bayern Munich for the rest of his career."
Since joining Bayern from Schalke in 2011, Neuer has won the Bundesliga three times, as well as the DFB Pokal twice, and both the Champions League and Club World Cup in 2013.
He also won the 2014 World Cup with Germany.
Guardiola also promised reporters that the Bundesliga title race will really heat up when leaders Bayern Munich face Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
"Everyone wanted more suspense in the Bundesliga. Now you have it so all is well," Guardiola said. "We are not perfect. Sometimes you have to lose to understand what you need to do in order to become an even better team."
