The former Dortmnd coach also revealed that his English striker daniel sturridge will make trip to London.
"Lucas is worse than we thought," he told a news conference. "He's really unlucky. It was because he was a little bit injured before, then after the penalty it went.
"I don't know exactly how long he's out but but five or six weeks."
Lucas' centre-back partner that day, Mamadou Sakho, was withdrawn in the first half with a head injury and Klopp said the Frenchman's situation was yet to be clarified. Sturridge, however, was ready to resume.
"Today was his first day back in training so we have to see in training tomorrow," he said. "Daniel trained today completely OK."
The manager said that he had more selection options than ever before as they looked to climb the Premier League and continue their challenge in the Europa League.
"Today we trained with a really big group, I hope it stays like this," Klopp said. "There are tough decisions -- we need this.
"Before it was 11 fit, go again, six or seven out. Now we have to use this quality to change, rest, go, with two very exciting outstanding tournaments."
