REAL MADRID REJECT CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FAVOURITES TAG AGAINST WOLFSBURG

Real Madrid do not believe they are favourites over Wolfsburg after being paired against the German side in the quarterfinals of the Champions League, club representative Emilio Butragueno said after Friday's draw.
Butragueno, a former Real Madrid striker and the club's current head of public relations, was speaking to reporters in Nyon after the last eight was drawn of Europe's elite club competition.
"We are in the quarters, so the opponent will always be strong," Butragueno said. "We know that you can pay for one mistake, but we hope to be back for the semis.
"The plan is to get a good result away and then have the Bernabeu at home to take advantage of. There's always a great atmosphere on European nights. We hope our players will meet the expectations of their fans."
Wolfsburg were the surprise name in Friday's draw, but thoroughly deserve their place in the last eight after topping a difficult group and beating Gent 4-2 on aggregate in the round-of-16.
"They were first in their group -- a tough group with Manchester United and PSV -- and they won it well," Butragueno said. "They also easily came through against Ghent. They will be motivated to play against us. They will be a very difficult opponent.
"There are no favourites at this stage. That is a dangerous word. We must prepare well.
"The game is coming after the international break, we hope Zidane can count on all his players being fit and ready. All the details are important in his stage of the Champions League."
Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs also spoke to reporters following the draw.
"We never wanted to play Bayern, so that's good," Allofs said. "Real are certainly favourites in both legs. But it's super interesting for our fans.
"Looking at the teams left, there are three or four teams in better form than Real Madrid right now. But they have outstanding team."
