KAZAKHSTAN CLUB KAIRAT ALMATY CAPTURES ANDREY ARSHAVIN

Former Arsenal midfielder and Russia captain Andrey Arshavin has joined Kairat Almaty of Kazakhstan.
Arshavin, 34, spent the first half of the 2015-16 season at Kuban Krasnodar, but failed to tie down a regular starting spot and left the club by mutual consent during the Russian League's winter break.
Kairat Almaty said on their official website that they have agreed an initial one-year contract with the option to extend to an additional season.
The creative midfielder scored 17 goals in 74 matches for Russia and played a starring role as his country reached the semifinals of Euro 2008.
Arshavin started his career at Zenit St Petersburg, spent four years at Arsenal and rejoined his hometown club in 2013.
