Leonardo Bonucci scathing about Juventus' display vs. Inter Milan
Leading 3-0 from the first leg of their semifinal tie, Juve were beaten 3-0 by the Nerazzurri at the San Siro, but triumphed on penalties to book their place in the final, where they will face AC Milan on May 21.
"It happened to me once with AC Milan when we won 4-0 against Arsenal in the first leg [of a Champions League round-of-16 tie] and at half-time in London, we were 3-0 down," Allegri said. "If we had gone out, there would have been the risk I would have taken everybody into a training camp.
"It would have been a crying shame to go out, without taking anything away from Inter. Of course, I should have prepared the game better."
Bonucci concurred with his coach's assessment of an off-colour performance.
"This is the worst game since I joined Juve six years ago," the 28-year-old said to RAI television. "We made our own lives difficult. It's horrible to say it, but we've all got to take a long, hard look at ourselves.
"We were lucky to take it to penalties, then it was a lottery. We got our approach to the game completely wrong. Inter had nothing to lose and they threw everything forward, and we just made things easy for them."
