I SPEAK WITH KLOPP BUT TRANSFER TO LOVERPOOL IS NEVER IN THE EQUATION SAYS GOTZE
Germany international and Bayern Munich midfielder Mario Gotze has revealed he is still in contact with his former manager and mentor Jurgen Klopp but transfer to Liverpool is never in equation.
"We are texting now and again," Gotze told ZDF TV. "He was my coach at Borussia Dortmund, but there is nothing special."
Asked whether they had discussed a potential transfer to Anfield, Gotze replied: "No."
Gotze featured for 54 minutes in Saturday's 5-0 win over Werder Bremen and said: "It was nice to return. I am just pleased that I was able to play again."
He remained coy over his future, saying it "hinges on many factors" but that his focus is "that I win minutes and we have a successful run-in."
He added: "Everything else will show in the future."
With Pep Guardiola leaving the club in the summer, Gotze knows that incoming boss Carlo Ancelotti could be crucial in deciding his Bayern future.
