NEYMAR TECHNICALLY BETTER THAN MESSI SAYS CAFU

Former Brazil captain and World Cup winner Cafu says Neymar is technically superior to Barcelona counterpart Lionel Messi and Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, and believes the former Santos man is "on another level" than any other Brazilian player.
Neymar helped Barcelona to a mature 2-0 defeat of Arsenal at the Emirates in their Champions League round of 16 clash on Tuesday, tabling the assist for the first of Messi's two goals.
The Barca No. 11 finished third in the FIFA Ballon d'Or voting in January behind Messi, who won for a record fifth time, and Ronaldo. Though Cafu has backed his countryman as the more technical of the three superstars.
"Looking at his technical skills, I would say Neymar is stronger than Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo right now," Cafu told reporters in Zurich, Switzerland on Wednesday.
Neymar assisted Barcelona to an historic Treble of La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League titles last season. Though he hasn't experienced the same success with Brazil's national team, with whom his World Cup, Olympics and two Copa America campaigns have ended without silverware.

 

Despite the team's struggles, Cafu -- a World Cup winner in 1994 and 2002 -- has little doubt the 24-year-old is the class of the current crop of Brazilian players.
"Neymar is the best Brazilian out there," Cafu said. "He is on another level than the other Brazilians.
"But Brazil need a united team more than anything else. Only a united team can guarantee a strong Selecao."
