The Australian all time scorer has secure his future after been released by Hangzhou's CSL rivals, Shanghai Shenhua, last week.
The move will come as a relief to Australia coach Ange Postecoglou who will look to the former Everton attacker to help the Socceroos in next month's crucial AFC 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Last week, his agent, Ante Alilovic, revealed that there was interest in Cahill from several Chinese clubs after 11 goals in 28 appearances in the CSL.
Despite top Australian clubs expressing their admiration for Cahill, there was little chance that he would go to the A-League because the season's transfer window had already closed.
