MANCHESTER -- Manuel Pellegrini says Sergio Aguero is close to his best after Manchester City's 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace, while also praising young forward Kelechi Iheanacho.
It took Aguero's tally to five goals in five games and, in a season disrupted by injury, Pellegrini is hoping he will now play a big part in the final few months of the season.
"He is making all the movements he does when he is 100 percent fit so he will continue improving," said the City boss.
"One of the merits of this squad is to be involved in a lot of competitions without important players for an important part of the season.
"Of course if you have all your players 100 percent fit our squad would be stronger but if we play without Sergio, Vincent Kompany, we have a squad that can win games. That is why I am so happy with the complete squad.
"If we have our complete squad from now until the end of the season, our team will be [stronger]."
Palace passed up good opportunities after a bright start to leave manager Alan Pardew scratching his head with his side now five games without a win or a goal, and he hinted that may try to buy a striker before the January transfer window
"It was a strange game all day, the goal changed the complexion of the game," he said. "The second half we tried to take it to City but they punish you.
"I can't really be too disappointed. It's a tough one to take really but we have to. There were moments in our offensive play which could have been better. This does flatter Man City though, there's no doubt about that.
"Maybe we do need another striker at this time -- that would give us all a boost I think. We are not going to hide from it. Whoever it is it will hopefully help the situation we are in. Sometimes you just need a goal out of nothing."
