
Mesut Ozil has been named Germany national team player of the year for 2015.
The Arsenal midfielder had won the award, which is voted for
by German fans, three times in a row before losing out to Toni Kroos in
2014.However, more than 51,000 fans voted for Ozil this year, giving him 45.9 per cent of the vote, and placing him well ahead of Bayern Munich's Thomas Muller (15.9 per cent) in second place.

Jonas Hector of FC Köln, received 13.6 per cent of the vote in third place, with 13 players nominated in total. Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger won the award in 2010.
