Chelsea midfielder Charly Musonda is poised to join Real Betis on loan, sources have told CCS.
Musonda, 19, hinted in December he could be open to a loan move in January after growing increasingly frustrated with his lack of opportunities at Stamford Bridge.
The Belgium under-21 international held talks with interim Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink to find out if he would figure in his first-team plans and both parties have now decided it would be best for the player to go out on loan in search of regular football.
Musonda figured for Chelsea in preseason, but has yet to make his competitive debut for the Blues.
A number of clubs at home and abroad have enquired about taking him on loan, but Spanish side Betis are in pole position to land the attacking midfielder.
Betis are languishing in 14th spot in La Liga, just four points above the relegation zone, and they see Musonda as someone who can boost their survival hopes.
Musonda is highly-regarded at Chelsea and the club feel he would be best served to go out on loan before coming back to challenge for a place in the first-team squad next season.
